Conservation Assessment in the Dja Faunal Reserve, Cameroun.

"In 2020, around a campfire in Cameroon's Dja Faunal Reserve, we envisioned a plan to protect this and other biodiversity hotspots. The Congo Basin forests, home to countless species including endangered pangolins, lowland gorillas, and forest elephants, needed a comprehensive audit of natural and human resources. This crucial first step would pave the way for local communities to take a more active role in forest conservation. While progress has been made, including gorilla surveys and impact assessments of nearby forestry projects, much work remains, contingent on funding and resources
